Third week
Jennifer and Tiny left at the crack of dawn and I girded my loins for my third week of school.
I am not very happy with the school, but just being surrounded by and immersed in Spanish is only doing good. It’s just not doing as much good as I had hoped.
This week started much like the last but then… I got a classmate! Isabella is an Italian surgeon who has worked in Berlin for the last few years and just got a job here in Pamplona. She has a few weeks to become proficient enough in Spanish to pass the Dele 2 exam. That’s the fly in the ointment, because she’s on a mission which it’s not clear the school can fulfill. I’m certainly hoping she’ll return tomorrow because not only is she lovely but more generally it makes all the difference having someone else in the class.
