Family Camino
Our Spanish family (my brother Bob, his wife Ana and their two kids Julia and Eva) walked the Camino Portugues in June, so they were very keen to walk some of it with us. Well it is possible that the parents were keener than the kids.
So despite our enormous day of eating and drinking yesterday, we set off this morning a little after 8, after a small breakfast, and they (plus Evan for the first few kilometres before he had to catch a bus back to Pamplona), walked our whole next stage with us to Navarrete, a lovely little village 12.5 km from LogroƱo. They have a long drive back to Madrid this afternoon, so it was lucky that we had a short stage already planned today.

We managed to keep Bob and Ana’s Camino tradition alive by stopping at almost all of the playgrounds we passed. As a bonus, at one of the playgrounds there was a squirrel which was happy to be photographed, although ultimately disappointed that we didn’t offer anything to eat in return. Eva was very happy for a new captive audience that she could tell all about her first week of a new year of school, and Julia seemed to have a good repertoire of walking songs, both in English from her dad, and in Spanish from her mum.
It was lovely to walk with them all, and to share our Camino experience with them.
