So much food

Last night we popped up the road from our mooring and went to an little local bar. They served burgers and pizza and had the weirdest range of decorations. The owner turned out to be an absolute character and the pizzas were just excellent. It was a great moment of canal serendipity.

This morning dawned cold but lovely. We didn’t have far to go so we took it easy. We motored for maybe an hour then moored and went to find a boulangerie. We bought the local specialties.

There has been a lot of eating on this trip and while the quality has been excellent, the quantity is beginning to defeat me. So when we stopped again another hour later for lunch beside a bridge – I had an apple.

Minervoise specialties

After lunch we motored into Homps where we completed the formalities to hand back the boat, although we’ll spend tonight on board. When the person from Le Boat asked us how it had been we said: Amazing, wonderful experience; comfortable space; stunning places; but the boat was a bastard to steer.
