My hat in memorium

I’ve finally had to face facts and retire my hat, as it’s falling to pieces. It’s done great service over the more than 10 years I’ve owned it. Fairly early on, I started adding scarves for it from places I went as a souvenirs. The scarves don’t last as long as the hat, so there have been quite a few.

Over its lifetime I’ve had a purple silk scarf from the silk artisans in Siem Reap in Cambodia, a blue silk scarf made in Bruny Island, Tasmania, a tropical scarf from Singapore, a pink silk scarf from Nimes in France, a Japanese blue and white scarf, and finally a scarf made by Michael Reid Tjapanangka depicting a rockhole in Tarkul, Western Australia.

I love this tradition, so I’ve bought another hat of exactly the same design.
