Lisbon

The apartment was in a great part of Lisbon, very close to the old Baixa area, so a walk to the castle, and the Praca do Comercio (where most trams stop), and not too bad a walk to the main train station also.

Renato was very flexible with time, and let us leave our bags early after we arrived on an overnight train from Madrid.

The apartment had lots of useful information about the attractions of Lisbon and the nearby towns, which were very helpful.

We were very close to one of the areas for the Lisboa Feste (so a band every night) which was great, as we could hear the band from the front room, but the bedrooms were at the back so there was no trouble sleeping.

The decoration of the apartment was great, so many interesting details, unlike many rental apartments which seem to be set up to be as sterile as possible.

When the TV wasn’t working Renato replaced it within a day, which was great.

The only downside was that there were three flights of stairs (no lift) which was good for our fitness.
