Last day in Helsinki – the Heureka science centre

We always find it tricky to work out what to do on the last day of a holiday with a late flight out; and it was, perhaps, especially difficult in Helsinki which isn’t laden with obvious attractions. So we fell back on our tried and true approach and visited the local science museum.

Heureka turned out to be really entertaining and we ended up spending the entire day there even though it’s not a huge place. In addition to exhibits we’ve seen in many other places it had some really novel things: for example, the trained rats playing basketball was without doubt something we hadn’t seen elsewhere.
