Cappadocia in the rain

After most of the day travelling we’ve arrived in Goreme, Cappadocia.

It’s a small town, surrounded by farms and studded with the strangely-shaped rocks that make this a place to visit.

At least we think that’s what we can see through the pouring rain.

This afternoon we managed a wistful look at the swimming pool, and a damp walk from the hotel to the centre of town. The forecast for tomorrow is, thankfully, much better.

For dinner we had one of the local specialities which is a stew cooked in an earthenware pot which is broken open at the table. It’s certainly a great way to keep the local pottery industry going.
