We made dumplings

Last day in Shanghai and we made dumplings.

My finished dumplings

We’ve eaten a lot of dumplings over the last week, and in fact ate a significant number more this morning as we toured the different types on sale. And by ‘significant number’, I mean a lot!

Making dumplings proved to require a degree of manual dexterity that was largely beyond us. Luckily the process is forgiving and although our dumplings didn’t look professional, they tasted fine.

Shanghai has been a fascinating blend of history and ultra-modern city. So it was appropriate we finished our visit by touching both ends of the scale. After a visit the the ancient Chinese Yu Garden, which was sadly too crowded for pleasure, we went to the ultra-modern end of the scale and caught the maglev train out to the airport.
