Larapinta 7: Hugh Gorge to Ellery Creek 2

Up early again today and sat with a cup of coffee in a camp chair watching the stars. Saw a fabulous meteor and the Milky Way was clear as a path in the sky.

Todays walk was much like yesterday, but a bit cooler. A well made track with wildflowers for interest. Even the lies were not so annoying today.

We ended this hike at Ellery Big Hole, a beautiful pool leading up to a gorge. Most of us went for a swim. The water was… cold, very cold. It was wonderfully refreshing but I think Jennifer was the only person brave enough to put their head under the surface.

Ellery Big Hole

our camp was about 30 minutes away in the troopy, at a place called Serpentine Chalet (no chalet to be found). We set up quickly, ready to settle in here for the next four nights.

16km today.
