Slow days in Madrid with the family
Day 1: Went shopping in the centre of Madrid. Jennifer bought a new suit.
Day 2: Visited the archeological museum – fabulous collection from prehistory to the Romans.
Day 3: Visited a little gallery – charming and exactly the grab-gag of stuff you’d expect when a vastly rich person buys lots of thing in the first half of the last century.
Day 4: Did looking after nieces things around the house.
Day 5: watched Australia play in the World Cup at 4am. Jennifer flew home. I visited a nice gallery and saw some amazing Goya etchings, got a haircut, wandered streets, did some shopping.
Day 6: Went to the Museum of Madrid which was really interesting. Visited the Museum of Romanticism, which was not. Had ensalada de queso de cabra for lunch – happiness.
Day 7: Watched Bob’s improv show in the park. Caught train to Barcelona.
