This beach house was definitely the best equipped house we have stayed in, with so many extras. We were especially grateful for all the fresh fruit, cake and sparkling wine in the fridge. And for practicalities, there was more than enough soap, laundry detergent, etc for our stay.
Summerland itself is a lovely little place, with a nice coffee shop, a lovely long beach, and even a small supermarket within walking distance. We saw dolphins from the beach, a hummingbird in the garden (attracted by all the lovely flowers) and some glorious sunsets from the main room, where the view of the ocean has been perfectly framed.
It is a short drive to Santa Barbara and Montecito, where there are some great hikes, but you can easily have a lovely relaxing week without driving anywhere.
