We stayed in this house for two weeks in October 2011. It is in a fantastic location. It is an easy walking distance to the Mall, close to two different metro stations and a supermarket within a block and a half. We ended up not using the metro tickets we had bought because we walked everywhere.
The apartment is well set up with everything we needed to cook and clean (including washing powder for the clothes washer and dishwasher) – great because we were travelling with kids and didn’t want to eat out very much. There are only enough plates etc for 6, however, the house would definitely be a squeeze for more than six people if you wanted to eat in.
A couple of things went wrong during our stay (internet and the dishwasher) and they were fixed reasonably quickly (I think the dishwasher took a week).
The reason I’m not giving this five stars is that I found the communication with the owner a bit hard to manage – there were three different people involved, and a different person seemed to answer my emails each time. Everything was fixed eventually, and exactly the right amount was taken off my credit card, no problems, but it left me a bit unsure at times.
I would stay there again for a visit to Washington with my family.
