We stayed at the Inverlair Lodge for one night on our visit to the Otago Rail Trail, a family of four with two children aged 11 and 9. We only wished we could have stayed longer, as the lodge had a lovely sitting room with a view over the trail and the surrounding area, and it looked like a great place to while away an afternoon by the fire.
We had two adjoining rooms which were lovely with fully appointed ensuites, and part of a wing with no-one else in it, so it was almost like our own section of the lodge. There was a washing machine and dryer ($4 each), and nearby clothes line (good while it wasn’t raining!). The breakfast was continental, with everything left for us to sort out in the morning, and lots to eat.
Highly recommended as a stop from the rail trail.
