After staying in the sister property in Singapore 18 months before, for our week in KL we decided to try the Somerset again in KL.
We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment for a week, a family of four with two boys aged 10 and 9. It was exactly what we were looking for, with a good sized living space, washing machine, and excellent pool on the top level. It is 5 minutes walk from the metro station, and 15 minutes walk from KLCC and the twin towers, so easy to get anywhere in KL by metro.
It’s kind of a combination hotel/apartment – a proper front desk with concierge that is staffed all day, but an apartment that you can cook in yourself (not that we did, with KL having such great cheap places to eat).
The breakfast was better than I expected reading the reviews, and the restaurant attached was cheap (by Australian standards) and good enough that we ate there quite a few times for dinner as well as breakfast.
The pool was a good size (maybe 20m long) and the only small downside was that there was nowhere to sit in the shade. It was a great way to cool down after a day’s sightseeing.
