Camino Day 26
Today’s walk was much like yesterday’s – a path beside a quiet, straight road in the shade cast by chestnut trees.
We ended up in Mansilla de las Mulas which is a much prettier town than yesterday’s. We sat in a bar on the main street for a while, waiting for the owner of the apartment we rented. A whole bunch of people we had met over the last few days came by so it was a constant reunion. Lots of slightly different Camino roads lead to Leon and because we haven’t stopped for 7 days now we haven’t offset ourselves from our walking cohort.
Our landlord turned up and was adorable – and in typical Spanish fashion had a restaurant recommendation at her fingertips. We have a lovely apartment overlooking a plaza which comes complete with that most welcome device on the Camino – a washing machine.
So after showers and washing we explored the town – churches and some medieval walls – and then had a lovely late lunch or early dinner at what proved to be a great restaurant.
