Larapinta 13: Davenport Creek and Redbank Creek 2
It was another cold night and I sat out in the early hours of the morning under the night sky. It is about as warm when I am rugged up, and much more interesting, than staring at the top of my tent. This, by the way, is the longest I have gone without reading a book since I learnt to read.

The hike today was an easy amble around the base of Mt Sonder. The highlight was the end at Redbank Gorge. All of these gorges have an incredible stillness to them that is almost spiritual. The cathedrals of the outback.

There is still a disturbing amount of negativity swirling around the group. N is deeply unhappy and willing to spread her unhappiness. by the end of the day it was apparent that she will not do the ascent of Mt Sonder tomorrow. It was unclear if that was her decision of that of the guides.
Only one day left and minds are now turning to what happens next.
We walked 14km today.
