When Evan and I did the whole Camino Frances three years ago, Evan was very keen to do it again straight away, but I was less keen. The whole experience had been so wonderful that I was worried that doing it again would spoil my memory of it.
This experience with Tiny, of doing 230 km over two weeks again with her, has been the perfect answer. I got to go the same beautiful places a second time, and also to see them through her eyes for the first time. The added bonus of course, was that I got to know Tiny a bit better and be inspired all over again by her adventurousness and perseverance.
It was a lot of fun being Tiny’s entourage, to bask her in her reflected glory, and I’m sad that I can’t go with her the whole way to Santiago de Compostela.
