Doing our würst
So the point of the last few days has been to make our way to Lübeck, a small-ish town on Germany’s Baltic coast.
Why Lübeck? Excellent question! It has almost everything to do with having a history-obsessed daughter who sees the fact Lübeck was the major town in the Hanseatic League as a good reason to visit.
So we and the kids are all making our separate ways to Lübeck in the course of today.

Jennifer and I arrived first and got our apartment sorted. Mostly by chance, the apartment is literally in the middle of the Christmas Market. Gluwein on our doorstep!
Amongst Lübeck’s claims to fame is its claim to be the home of marzipan. Now those who know me well know I adore marzipan – so a place with multiple shops selling nothing but God’s own gift to sweet things can only be good. And in a first for me – they have marzipan würst. Who knew? As it’s my Birthday today, Jennifer treated me to a far more vegetarian marzipan potato.
