Colle Val d’Elsa
Last night we had an excellent meal with Jay and Connie from the United States. Local wine and dishes and good company – although it’d be a stretch to describe it as a pilgrim meal.

Today’s walk was a little different to the previous days. Most of the trail was through woodlands in the Val d’Elsa. tan meant it was shaded and sure by bird-song, but there were fewer vistas.

We have ended up at Colle Vale d’Elsa which is a medieval town on a hilltop. We are staying at the base of the hill, which made our afternoon foray up the incredibly steep path to see the town an optional extra.
