Food and beauty overwhelming
Jennifer’s Birthday present from a few months ago was today.
We are with Bob, Ana, their two kids and Jennifer’s Aunt Tiny. So seven of us drove north from LogroƱo to the medieval town of Laguradia for a wander through walls and streets and an amazing view of the surrounding countryside.

Then we drove on to the main game – lunch at the gastronomic restaurant at the Marques de Riscal bodega. Marques de Riscal is famous for its wines and also for its beautiful vineyard crowned with the Ghery-designed ribbon building.

Lunch was amazing to the point of overwhelming. We had 21 courses of locally themed and perfectly presented food over a leisurely Spanish lunchtime four hours. And, of course Rose and Rioja, wine from the vineyard. I’m now so full and tired I’m in no state to do justice to describing what’s probably the best meal I’ve ever had.
