The Cares Gorge Path
The Cares Gorge is one of Spains most famous walks. It is a narrow trail cut into the gorge cliffs that follow the Cares River.

Now those who know me know I don’t like heights. And today was HEIGHTS – a narrow path with drops of up to 300m. Luckily this was self-guided and I could walk at my own fast pace. That meant I could focus on the path more than the drop. There were some bits that left me with rushes of adrenaline, but mostly it was just very beautiful. It is though nigh-on impossible to get a sense of the height and scale from the photos – but if you look closely you can see the thin ribbon of the path to gave a sense of what was involved.

Late in the day we moved our base to the other side of the Massif. The temperature has jumped up a bit with that move and my new room has no aircon. We’re in a tiny village called Espniama which is nicely positioned for our upcoming walks.
